Lajaun Prince-Williams founded The DMV Dance Club in October 2019. She felt the need to build positive community interaction with the young and old through dance. Born and raised in Washington, D.C. in the 70’s, she lived in a tight-knit community in the Capitol Hill area. She performed and danced in talent shows and won the best dance contest in 1974. "That was an experience I would never forget." Mrs. Prince-Williams would like to bring back the talent shows and dance contests to empower youth, build self esteem, and bring that competitive spirit back into our communities.
"We danced our way to become positive role models and participated in competitive dancing."
